Winner or whiner? How mindset changes your career.

Even dictionary.com spells out the impact of mindset in the workplace.

“Whiner” noun. someone who complains a lot, especially in a peevish, self-pitying manner or tone: Being a whiner at work just makes you look petty, childish, and untrustworthy.

As a career coach, I facilitate career consultations frequently and speak with many professionals who feel less than positive about their current career position. This commonly includes:

  • Frustration – feeling like their current role is dead-end and wanting something better.
  • Overwhelmed, lost or stuck on a career path that isn’t right but no idea what to do next or how to go about changing paths.
  • Toxic environment – stressed, burnt-out, under-valued and confidence through the floor so cannot see the escape route.

All these scenarios are terrible to experience.

All these scenarios can be overcome with 100% success.

But whether you are going to win success depends on your mindset.

The sad reality is that some people moan about their career paths a lot but never really have any intention of doing anything about it.

Without intention and action, it is whining.

If you are serious about changing your future, you can be a winner if you put your mind to it and have both the intention and action to do something about it.

Free consultations available to want-to-be winners.

Professional

I first worked with Will whilst I was a junior member of a teaching team. I worked closely with him for around three years and he became a true mentor to me. During this time Will helped encourage me to discover my own leadership style and he mapped out what it takes to be successful. I highly recommend Will for life and career coaching.

Will is a professional, natural leader who manages to make you feel at ease. He manages to be both emphatic and encouraging, whilst also managing to challenge you to find your own answers. Will’s approach is totally non-judgmental and the sessions are really focused on you and on what you want to achieve. Working with Will has allowed me to address challenges I was facing and he brought a wealth of resources and practical tools to help me set goals, clarify my values, and explore avenues right away. Even though I left teaching 5 years ago, I still seek out Will for his help and guidance and I appreciate his versatility as a thought partner, ally, and coach. Our sessions are always productive and efficiently run, which is perfect for someone who is juggling many priorities! Will brings great communication, professionalism and quality to his work and I highly recommend him as a life/business coach.
