Fear the bully.

When we think of bullying, we think of children at school. We don’t think of adults at work.

The sad fact is that there are forms of bullying in the workplace. We are not meant to say that because bullying is bad. Instead we say ‘toxic environment’ or ‘gas-lighting’ or ‘quiet firing / quiet quitting’.

It is bullying.

There, I have said it. The one word that ‘cannot possibly be’ in our schools and workplaces.

Tell that to someone who is experiencing it. Tell it to their families who see loved ones a shadow of their former self. Tell the colleague who is shaking in the toilet cubicle praying that another day at work can come to an end, so they can return to the safety of home.

Bullying is not just an individual, it can be at organisational level. The bigger the bully, the harder it is to stand your ground. You will feel isolated, powerless and small by comparison.

But here’s the twist. We all know that bullies are cowards. By fearing the bully, you give them power. It is not the bully but fear itself.

Fear the bully? No. It is FEAR, the bully.

Fear manifests itself in many ways, but ultimately it attacks our thoughts, confidence and self-belief. Whilst fear cripples our mindset, we cannot get out of the corner we feel backed into.

Overcome fear, the bully has no power.

YOU are empowered in your thoughts, confidence and self-belief.

And then you can do ANYTHING.
