When things change inside you, things change around you.

How often do we want things around us to change, but remain fixed in our own thoughts and ways?

The simple truth is that when you commit to a change – and change beliefs, actions, and habits – an amazing thing happens.: things around you change, too.

But it is not always easy when you have stared at the same view for so long. You stop “seeing” what is there in front of you – and if you cannot see it, you don’t know what to change.

Here’s a little experiment you can try. In a familiar room, move something around – change a picture on the wall or move a chair to a different location. Now when you walk into the room that you didn’t even notice before, your eyes will be drawn instantly to the very thing you have changed.

Imagine how much harder it is to “see” the things you have always done and make the change inside you so that it will impact the things around you.

How to make the change to impact your career and life.

This is why making a change is much easier with the help of a career coach. When I asked a Mapleleaf Vision client what surprised her the most in the coaching experience, this is what she had to say:

“It was great to have a completely objective commentator on my situation and I was surprised at how perceptive and insightful many of the observations were. I was surprised as to how many things were pointed out to me that seemed blindingly obvious once talked about but that I had never really considered.”

[Helen A – former teacher ‘Beyond the Crossroads’ programme]

To change the things inside you, first you must change your perception. When you change the view is when things change inside you, then the things around you can change.

Professional

I first worked with Will whilst I was a junior member of a teaching team. I worked closely with him for around three years and he became a true mentor to me. During this time Will helped encourage me to discover my own leadership style and he mapped out what it takes to be successful. I highly recommend Will for life and career coaching.

Will is a professional, natural leader who manages to make you feel at ease. He manages to be both emphatic and encouraging, whilst also managing to challenge you to find your own answers. Will’s approach is totally non-judgmental and the sessions are really focused on you and on what you want to achieve. Working with Will has allowed me to address challenges I was facing and he brought a wealth of resources and practical tools to help me set goals, clarify my values, and explore avenues right away. Even though I left teaching 5 years ago, I still seek out Will for his help and guidance and I appreciate his versatility as a thought partner, ally, and coach. Our sessions are always productive and efficiently run, which is perfect for someone who is juggling many priorities! Will brings great communication, professionalism and quality to his work and I highly recommend him as a life/business coach.
