My dear doubters,

I just wanted to touch base with you. I know you have been thinking about me, wondering what I have been doing since we parted ways. Your little attempts to undermine what I am doing makes me believe you must be missing me – why else would you keep trying to catch my attention like this? So here I am.

For many years you have tried to make me believe my dreams were worthless. You shot down every idea and did your utmost to sabotage hope that I could scale higher. Sometimes I fell. Plenty of times I failed. When I wanted your hand to help me up, you kicked me further down.

But I did get back up. I kept on reaching for the stars. My dreams are not lost – my spirit not broken. What you never realised is the more you tried to hold me down, the greater my strength became.

Now I have scaled higher than I first believed I could. My dreams have reached the stars. And I will keep rising higher.

Thank you for not believing in me – for now, more than ever, I believe in myself.

Thank you for trying to bring me down – for now I have wings to soar beyond all possibilities.

Thank you for the years of misery – for now I fully appreciate the happiness I have found.

Yes, my dear doubters, I know you must be missing me.

But I am not missing you.
