Goldilocks and the 3 CVs: how to get it just right.

Once upon a time, there was an employer called Goldilocks who went for a sift through a forest of applications.

Over coffee, she picked up the first CV. It was filled with every task and role Daddy Bear had ever done.

“This CV is too long.” Goldilocks said as she tossed it into the rejection pile.

She picked up the second CV. It was all about what Mummy Bear wanted from the company and a big gush about how wonderful it would be for her.

“This CV is too sickly.” Goldilocks said as she tossed it into the rejection pile.

She picked up the third CV. It was full of relevant information and how that would benefit the company.

“This CV is just right.” Goldilocks said as she placed it in the shortlisting tray.

Like all good fairy tales, your CV is the difference between a happily ever after ending or a mauling to your confidence when another rejection hits your inbox.

But writing a good CV is an art to get just right.

Here is why I can help you find your fairy tale ending for your new career. I am:

  • a professional CV writer.
  • a career coach (accredited) and founder of a successful business.
  • awarded a master’s degree in English.
  • experienced recruiting staff (and being recruited).
  • with 14+ years’ experience coaching and mentoring staff development.

Don’t get lost in the forest. Find your right path by sending me a message today.

Professional

I first worked with Will whilst I was a junior member of a teaching team. I worked closely with him for around three years and he became a true mentor to me. During this time Will helped encourage me to discover my own leadership style and he mapped out what it takes to be successful. I highly recommend Will for life and career coaching.

Will is a professional, natural leader who manages to make you feel at ease. He manages to be both emphatic and encouraging, whilst also managing to challenge you to find your own answers. Will’s approach is totally non-judgmental and the sessions are really focused on you and on what you want to achieve. Working with Will has allowed me to address challenges I was facing and he brought a wealth of resources and practical tools to help me set goals, clarify my values, and explore avenues right away. Even though I left teaching 5 years ago, I still seek out Will for his help and guidance and I appreciate his versatility as a thought partner, ally, and coach. Our sessions are always productive and efficiently run, which is perfect for someone who is juggling many priorities! Will brings great communication, professionalism and quality to his work and I highly recommend him as a life/business coach.
